Lana..sold my big reels already..They're heavy I tell you. BTW, I use steel leaders for the big game fish and a 60 or 80 pound line.

Ambil or Lubang Islands are good rod and reel fishing grounds pards...also calavite point in mindoro. We usually do overnite fishing armed only with rod and reels and a coleman gas light ...and tanduay, beers and gin bulag in the cooler. The bancas come from Wawa, Batangas (right across Fortune Island).

But all this was 15 years ago.

I believe there is. I have a friend in the province who does this and was the one who was selling his boat. There is also a number of fishing yatchs at subic and the manila yatch club, so I guess there is :)
way way back i used to read vic vic villavicencio's column about fishing and they used to fish in tubbataha reef...

i don't know if they still do this of if it's even still allowed

Last I did sport fishing was in San Vicente, Cagayan. Wahoos and Swordfishes were the usual catch. Sprained my arm reeling in one...
it's old age... but yeah sure blame the fish...

got word that several ponds have been stocked with Peacock BAss and would be ready for fishing by MAY. where ? i'll tell on May.

for caliraya, Pacu fishes are ready for fishing and you need a wire lead for them nasty teeth !!!

pao - pacu fishes? red pacu? I use to have 6 of this in a pond at home in the province and they grew to about a foot's length, but they died :( I don't think I have the heart to fish them red pacu's. but the peacock bass sound good!
