Mikey,
You might think of using Quiesence, a dive operator that uses 6 packs. If you fill up the boat, they will go where you want to go or the kind of place you want to go. The captains know the reefs very well and have a fair number of spots that only they seem to visit. The boats are small so if the is some chop, it can get a bit sick making. The good thing about quite a bit of the Key Largo diving is that snorklers and divers can work the same dive. Quite a few of the reefs are pretty shallow.
Mrs. Macs is good. It is a funky little spot, nothing fancy. I think the kids would enjoy its retro atmosphere.
If you accomodations have a kitchen, there is a good Publix on Key Largo. You can get fresh local fish at the Publix or a number of other areas nearby and slap the fillets on the grill.
