Ok, no "pod people" beaches on Bonaire...

Atlantis Beach
Fisherman's Pier
Boca Slaagbai (in park, stunning)
Ole Blue Dive Site (Small, but nice)
Donkey Beach (Windsock, across from runway at airport)
Just to the south of the "old" pink beach, there is a small sandy beach
Windsurf Beach
and on Klein Bonaire the magnificent "No Name" Beach

We visited Bonaire in July 2006. We loved it. I even needed a light sweater in the evenings. It is beautiful diving. We stayed at Buddy's. They met our needs and we enjoyed night diving at Buddy's Reef. We liked being able to use the drive thru for tanks.

You will love Bonaire! Eden Beach was a nice little beach with not many people at all. Wannadive was a great dive shop, too. Plaza Resort also had a pretty nice beach. Their dive site was the 18th Palm.

Buddy's has a great dive operation, both for shore and boat diving. If the house reef was the only one on the island, its worth the trip to dive there everyday.

When you stay at Buddy's be sure to stay in one of the three story buildings. They are much nicer than the two story buildings. There is a reason why there are no photos of the rooms on Buddy's website.

I just got back from Bonaire. I've been to Bonaire 4 times. Three times I stayed at Plaza Resort (Toucan Diving). This time I stayed at Blachikoko Apartments (near the Plaza) Very quiet nice apartments. They have a website and the owner Laetitia is very nice, they pick you up at the airport and help you with your car, diving etc. We chose to use Toucan Diving since we've been diving with them for 4 years. Blackikoko has access to small secluded beach behind Blachikoko, but it is very rocky (booties are a plus). You can also dive from that beach if you like. You must do the Salt Pier (we loved it). Enjoy!

I love Bonaire and can't wait to return. We stayed at Sand Dollar and dove with Bonaire Dive and Adventure. Both were wonderful and we'll do the same thing again next visit. It's awesome diving!!

I liked Buddy's for the convenience of all your equipment right next to the dock so you can get on a boat or jump off the pier swim 50 yds and day or night see just about all the animals that live around the island. We would do a 2 tank boat dive in the am and then a shore dive in the pm and a few night dives also.

If you want to stay somewhere NOT at the shore, you can't beat the Deep Blue View. They are up on the hill in Republic with a really nice 5 room B&B, pool, tanks, dive lockers and view to die for. Menno and Esther are wonderful and even offer boat dives to Klein on Menno's boat "The Office" (I sure wish my office looked like his!). The biggest problem is getting a reservation since they have a lot of folks returning for multiple stays. Anyway, there are a lot of good choices for lodging on Bonaire and the diving is spectacular! Good luck!
