Gidday fellow divers,
I'm new and was introduced by a guy who sold me a sea anchor a Great White took a liking to. Anyway I had to take it back for repair and we got to discussing this shark and it's harrassing behaviour and he mentioned he'd seen a shark photo posted on this site of the same shark. These guys are intimidating but intriguing at the same time. My experience saw this shark slide his head out of the water twice at the rear of my boat almost resting on the transom which got me thinking, what does a shark see out of water?

Hope to learn more

Regards,

Mike.

What does a shark see out of water? Same thing they see under, DINNER! Im sure the focus must be different but whales eyehop all the time. Seals and such see just fine under and above. I guess it must work for them.

Aloha and welcome to the board!

Benvenuto a bordo from the middle of Mediterranean sea. :wavey:

Enjoy your stay and be careful :icosm12: can be very addictive :068:

As a friend of mine is saying...
for sharks, divers are friends, only bad instructors are food...

Love shark too and hardly waiting to make the next cruise to see them. Here in Italy is very very very rare to see them underwater.

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

Was the Great White winking at you after nibbling on you anchor. Maybe it was just getting a bit fresh! ;)

Don't forget to fill out your profile and dive info, so that we can add context to your future posts. Also, once we know where you are geographically, you may find that you'll have a whole bunch of new dive buddies to choose from locally.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.
