Most people have heard the joke that "one size fits all, fits everyone but me"! The fact is that you will need more than one wet suit if you plan to dive in a variety of waters. This cannot be avoided, no matter how much some people wish it to be so. I'll use myself as an example, I currently have 3 wet suits and 1 dry suit. I have a 3mm shorty for very warm waters, a 5/4/3mm full wet suit for cooler summer waters, a 7mm full suit for cold waters, and a hooded overshorty that matches the 5/4/3 and 7mm suits. All this and a standard hood combine to fit almost every dive environment I have ever encountered, even diving under the ice! Now of course I have a dry suit, but that is used for longer duration dives, or when I'm feeling like a wussy.
My point is simply that if you are looking for that one size fits all/do everything wet suit. You will not find it, and any one that claims to have is most likely suffering at some point prior, durring or after a dive.
Anyone who claims diving is a cheap sport is either a liar trying to sell you something, or has never dove outside of warm tropical waters.
