Hey everyone....

Im pumped to announce that Im going to be heading for a dive trip to Bonaire in October......

Im looking at alternative ways to get to the island because my frequent flyer miles can only get me to aruba or puerto rico....(US airways)

Anyone have any recent expierences in Bonaire that I should adhere to or any recent weather info???How about any hotels closer to the better dive site??any good dive packages to know of would be nice.....

Thanks for any insight!!

Happy Diving

Enjoy Bonaire.
Myself and others have posted a lot about Bonaire over the years. Do a search and you can find a lot of useful info. You can also come over to the Bonaire board and look around there. www.bonairetalk.com

As for a place to stay, for a nicer on water place I like Buddy Dive. I recommend the "dive and drive" package as you will need a vehicle of some sort. www.buddydive.com Basically, anywhere you stay on Bonaire, you are close to great diving.
If you have a specific question, ask away, I most likely know the answer.

Check out www.shorediving.com also, good guidance there. We stayed at Bellafonte Chateau de la Mer in May 2004, and really enjoyed it. Had "unlimited nitrox" package through Photo Tours, worked great. I wouldn't recommend Photo Tours for boat diving. Be sure to take a trip to Klein Bonaire one day while you're there too.

bonairetalk is a great source for information.

We stayed at Deep Blue View--it's a B&B; boat dives, air fills, and pickup included. It's up the hill just north of town, but the rooms, breakfasts, view, and owners' hospitality made our first trip to Bonaire special.

Just get a pick-up, grab some tanks, and go. Say hi to the donkeys :).

From Aruba - Bonaire Excel or DCA to Bonaire. In May the fare was $70(one-way?) From San Juan, American Eagle(Express?) flies to Bonaire, that's what we did. I think there's only two departures though - one early morning and one around 6pm.

As advised previously there's a lot of good info on Bonairetalk.
