Delta....

Might I suggest a private table on the dock at sunset at Richard's Restaurant....

I will reserve if you want...

Liz

Just surfed through the restaurants thread and saw things like "unbeatable atmosphere", "excellent service", "awesome view" so it sounds like Richard's would be great for us. If you can reserve it for May 26th that would be great, Liz! Thank you!

Also we haven't received our room confirmation yet. Are you guys having email troubles again? I'm a computer tech by trade so I can bring a really big hammer with me if you need it. ;)

Matt....

LOL....just had a hard drive crash and had a new one put in. I didn't see a reservation come through. Did you do it through the website? I will go ahead and book Richards for you. If for some reason the dock is already taken do you still want to eat there at a regular table?

Thanks.

Liz

Yep I booked through the website Saturday morning and sent a separate email, I guess you got neither. Should I just book through the website again?

Also, maybe this is an ignorant question but I don't pretend to be otherwise when it comes to diving. :) Can you tell me what the Nitrox mix is from Wannadive (or just in general)? I am shopping for a dive computer and see that different computers support different % oxygen in the nitrox mixes. I want to make sure I can use whatever I buy!

edit: forgot to add, yes a regular table is fine if they are booked up.

The typical mix on Bonaire runs between 31 and 36%, mostly around 32. 29 or 30 is common here in NC. You will want a nitrox computer to cover from 21 to 50% (unless you want to start tech diving). All that I have seen cover this range

Matt & Herman.... Wannadive has been running pretty consistent here 32-33%. Agree with the remainder of what Herman says....

Matt I emailed you again....Liz

I gave the range because Buddy use to have 36 as well as 32 although I have not seen it the last couple of times.

Thanks guys. I bought a VT3 for myself and a Suunto Vyper for my wife (both used on ebay for really good prices). Should work great for us. Our Nitrox class is May 1st, can't wait to learn something new. :D

I'm sure this will be covered in the class, but when you get tanks how do you know what the mix is? Is there a machine that you plug the tank into that tells you the mix or do they just tell you "we use x%". I can see why it might not be a great idea to just take their word for it.

You need an O2 analyzer to determine what exactly is in your tank. Most shops have them, or you can bring your own. I know with my computer I have to set the O2 level at least once a day, so I get in a habit of reading the tank, then going straight to my computer and getting it set.

They'll have analyzers at the shop you are getting tanks from on Bonaire, no worries. Once we started diving nitrox, we simply got into the habit of setting our computers before each dive whether we were diving air (21%) or EAN. For us it's an easy reminder never to forget to think about analyzing our tanks and setting our computers.
