That would be 1.75 ton belt. It was madness. I had bruises on my hips for a day :p

ah, the 1.75 ton one... the conosseur's choice

I did my cert through Michael Pretty of Pretty SAFE Enterprises. He's an ACUC instructor.

I'm really looking forward to diving the Bell island wrecks, my brother and others have told me they're pretty amazing, and I've read they're world renouned.

29 minutes in this water is pretty tough to do though when wet! I find when I get out, I'm actually dumb with the cold :p

w00t!! I'M CERTIFIED!!!!!!!!!

I just did a series of dives yesterday. Beautiful day, air temp was 41 F, sun was shinging bright with water temp of 35 F. Thats two whole degrees greater than my first dives! Well, it still felt colder. I think that's testiment to not eating breakfast on the day of my dives. Hey, everything's a learning experience right?

Well, we did two dives. The first one was to 50 feet for 27 minutes. Sixteen minutes into that dive, I was officially certified by the ACUC!

The second dive was to 25 feet for 25 minutes. This was my first dive of my certified life. Besides the feeling of complete and utter numbness from the near-freezing water and being in a wet suit (anyone wanna give me a drysuit for free?! :D) it was exhilarating!

It'll be great to have some warmer water soon though. It's kinda difficult to really relax and be comfortable when you're so cold. But, this is the price you pay when you live in Atlantic Canada. Heh.

I took an underwater disposable camera with me, and I'll post the pics assuming they came out well! (that will also be another topic in the photography board. I'm doing an analysis on the camera I used)
