So last night I had my first open water class IT WAS AWESOME! I can't wait to actually put on all the equipment and then go into the water with it, all we did was assemble and disassemble, next week I think we put it all back on and hop in!

We did the swimming across the pool a couple times and 10 min float/tread, lol nearly died... well not really but it was hard, should probably exercise more.

all in all it was a great time, can't wait for more!

Congrats. who are you taking your course through.
I am glad to see your instructor is not rushing through the course. it's very important to know how to assemble and disassemble your gear.
Most importantly though is have fun and take your time if you think you are going slow enough slow it down more . Diving is not a race.

Enjoy, learn, go slow, enjoy more.

keep up the good work and keep us informed.....

Agree. Assume this is not a weekend course of course. I did the 3 weeks/2 days each week thing then weekend at the ocean. Was the way to go--at least for me.

Yeah what he said - knowing why you doing things a certain way and why you don't do things goes a long way helping to retain the training. There's a lot to learn. My advice is please, please, please work on your buoyancy & trim. It will make things way easier down the road. You coming to Scubaboard is a great start - took me a while to find this place and it's a wealth of info and helpful people. google DIR & GUE and watch some of the videos - knowing what good diving is supposed to look like is another thing that helped me tremendously - even if you don't adopt all of their methods, it's hard to deny the underlying philosphy.
