It is time for my first night dive, doing it as part of AOW. I dive in SE Florida or the Carribean, never anything cold. I already have a backup light, so now I must acquire a primary. I am leaning towards the Princeton Tec Miniwave LED. To complicate matters, the best price I found is from Leisure Pro at $89.00 with free shipping. So, is this the right choice in lights and is this the right place to buy it?

dk2943,

There is no such thing as the right light....

For general purpose night diving in decent water anything in the PT Shockwave series will do. The LED models offer great battery life. I have the Shockwave LED and like it fine.

In clear water you may find that it's nice to do part of your dive with your smaller light to avoid scaring critters away.

Night diving is a wonderful extension to your diving. Have a great time!
