I just had the most awesome diving day. Went out to the quarry today.........had a good dive , stayed pretty much in the shallows........took pictures, which may not turn out well, but was fun. Got pictures of me "driving" some of the boats..........swabbing the deck of one of the sailboats........etc. saw "Fancy" the overgrown white "goldfish" and just played around, had a good time. My air comsumption was a little better. Later went with a group on a "wall run" . First time I had gone completely around the quarry in one dive. THEN came the best part of the day. After dark I stayed for my first ever night dive. I thought it was going to be scarry, but it was AWESOME> I can only imagine what it would be like in salt water. I guess there is a lot of child left in me, but one of my favortie things was sneaking up on sleeping fish! Also the big catfish come out at night in the quarry. It was so calm and peaceful. I actually was more relaxed than I am in the daytime.

I know it won't pass up any opportunity to make a night dive in the future if it is at all possible.

It just keeps getting better and better

Night dives rock! Glad to hear that you liked it so much. In salt water it can be awesome too. The dive light brings out the colors much better than sunlight. So that coral or fish you saw at 65ft, will look even better at night with a light. :D

Glad to hear you are getting to be a seasoned diver. Yes, the night dives seem to be more relaxing. Saltwater night diving is awesome experience and hopefully you will get to do it in the near future.

Congratulations Skybird!

If I think back a few posts of yours I think this would be what I'd call a breakthough day and I'm very happy for you. A 3 dive day has been on my to-do list but I have yet to put one together. I also love night dives. Just keep diving and you'll see how fast you progress.

Congratulations!!!

Yes, night diving is a blast. It's loads of fun to dive a site in the daytime and then compare the differences at night. In salt water the difference can be dramatic.

The first night dive I did was in Bonaire and we had 4 or 5 large tarpon swimming all around us, moving in and out of our lights. We also saw some of the corals that open up only at night. Since then I've been hooked on it and can't wait for opportunities to go.

Put a night dive in the ocean at the top of your list of things to do. It is so awsome!

Congrats Skybird!
I envy you, been wanting to do the night dive for awhile but have not put it togeather yet.
Its nice to read your post and know that it is everything thing that I anticipated.
Congrats again and SAFE diving
