I'm taking my son (recently certified) to Cancun/Coz diving. I am familiar with the Coz diving, but not with Cancun.

Can someone compare Cancun vs Coz for a "newbie"?

We're flying in and out of Cancun, so that would be slightly more convenient.

Thanks,

Rich

Where are you staying? Cancun or Coz? I personnaly haven't dove in Cancun but I've never heard anything good. If you can do all your diving in Coz I would recommend that.

Have fun!=-)

The diving in Cancun is really limited. I did 6 dives there last Thanksgiving (2001) .
There was a lot of current (which is true for some sites at Coz ) , but due to the shallow depths at Cancun you can't
"get away from it" very well. I was impressed with the number of fish during my dives there.

I've done it and won't do it again.
It's worth the trip to go to Coz.

I just got back from doing 12 dives with Blue Angel over Thanksgiving week. I've used Aldora Divers in the past.

There is plenty of info. in this forum about dive ops on Coz.

Check them out too.

Hi Rich,

And these are advanced venues that are often a hassle to get to as the dive ops want a minimum number of qualified divers to do 'em.

Skip Cancun & spend your dive time on Coz.

Best regards.
