Will any first aid class work for the rescue diver class? Or is it something specific they require? Will the standard AHA BLS for healthcare workers work?
Thanks

So long as it has an in-person component, probably. There are online only classes that just cover academics, those are usually not acceptable. But talk with the course instructor to verify, they'll be the ones that accept it or not.

You may need additional work with O2 units as well, since those are not typically taught in a non-diving oriented first aid class, but it's the primary 1st aid for diving incidents.

I'm a fan of the DAN DEMP or DFA Pro classes over AHA or equivalent. More detailed and more oriented toward diving.

Right. You can also ask the agency involved. Technically the instructor must accept what the agency approves, otherwise they are probably in violation.

Aha for healthcare workers is fine. Ive never had to do a diving specific first aid/cpr since im a paramedic.
@sea_ledford, The healthcare provider course covers oxygen use.
