I don't yet have access to the instructor forum on this board, so I thought I would give this a go here. I am in the process of certifying my son in law as an OW diver. We are going to Cozumel in April and staying at the Occidental Grand. My thought was that I would conduct his OW dives in Cozumel. Have any of you instructors done this? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated..

I always check with the dive operator and with my insurance company. Cozumel is the only place where I was refused permission by the operator to teach on his facilities. All other places it has been OK with them, and some have even helped me (like loaning me a CESA float and line, for example). And I've always had to add an "additional insured" to my policy.

Good points! Apparently Pro Mexico now has the dive op at the Occidental Grand where we are staying. I will give them a call to see what they have to say. Thank you!
