Good question..

One option is the Naui Master Diver program which does the techinical side of Dive Master without the teaching portion.

Another is to do what Rick is talking about with Deco Procedures and Advanced Nitrox, especially if I end up doing Truck in 2010.

But the main thing for me now is just getting more experience diving. I have completed 85 dives in the last 18 months and if I can duplicate that, I think at that point I would be confident enough to feel that I could start dive master, having 200 dives by the point at which I would really be working as such.

My long term goal is to be at an instructor level by the time I am eligible to retire, which isn't for another 10 years.
