Hello, I am going this monday to start my certification. I have also been reading this board for a while and have found it to be the best scuba board on the web. I am ready to do my pool dives tomorrow and have allready became comfortable with taking my mask off underwater while breathing and clearing it thanks to some of the posts on the board. they really help a lot.

The wife and I finished our open water today, and I has no problems thanks in large part to a lot of the advice here. At first I had trouble everytime I got water in my mask, but after swimming in the pool with just a snorkel I started to get used to it. Once we were at the lake, I just did the skills without thinking and it was no problem.
The instructors and DM's were great, and I think I would have been a lot more nervous if they hadn't made us all so confortable.
Now we're certified, and can keep on learning :dazzler1:
