Foxfish in the dof master you don't insert 35mm equivalent lengths
You input real focal length your S100 is 6mm I that table not 24
Have a look now then you can see why a compact has huge depth of field compared to a real 35mm
For my S95 length at 35mm equivalent 7.4mm times magnification of UFL165AD 0.405 = 2.997
Now look at the table with focal length 3mm and see what you get
At 1 foot further away in focus infinite at F5.6 this is what I meant however it is hard to understand here

Am not doing the bsoup as I have another commitment
Maybe we can catch up over another week end am also trying or selsey on the 21st to do some video/photo experiments

Thanks for your responses Interceptor121. The charts indicate there is a significant improvement in depth of field with a wider aperture. Will try this out to see how it goes in manual mode.
