As Driftwood suggested -- no one has claimed the fin I found a while back, so I'm planning on donating it to Douggan Diving's Vets program. Hoping to run into someone from that shop at the Aquafest.

Was that fin found at 35' below the surface . . . . or 35' above the waterline?
Sorry. These questions, sadly, must be asked these days.

Since the porta potties blew into the lake and sank a storm or 2 ago -- they were spotted underwater by Carrielsal and Paulw -- Carrielsal would know if the fin was found near the current location of the porta potties :D

The fin was found at about 35 ft below the surface just off of "porta potty" cove. The submariner potty was just south of the scoreboard but I carrielsal and I did not see it on our dive last night although we may not have gone far enough south. The park will not let you take a vehicle down on the dirt anymore so we entered north of where we had been diving when we found it before.

beach parking is no more???? say it isn't so!! :crying:

it isn't like the lake has come up and covered the beach.

So the portapottie we found a couple of weeks ago had blown several hundred yards south of where it was standing.
Last night there were no portapotties. I thought maybe they had also been blown into the water, but the park ranger said that they had been removed.
The fin was found just west of where the portapotties use to be.

So that was the other thing the park ranger told me was that it was never really legal to park down on the beach to begin with, but they let people do it because the water was so low. Now they have cones at the top of the cement road by the picnic table.
They did let us drive out gear down to unload, then come back up to park. As we were coming out of the water, the park ranger pulled up and gave us a ride on her tailgate back to our vehicles in the parking lot. That was great!

I talked to Tim who manages Bob Wentz.

He said the beach was closed because of the rain. It's open for parking now.

Woo! Hoo!
