My daughter and I will be spending one week in Fiji, mostly wanting to relax and shore snorkel. We are avid and very experienced. Does anyone have recommendations as to the best locations for shore snorkeling after the devastating storm? At the end of the week my husband will be joining us and we expect to dive for several days out of Taveuni Paradise. Thanks!

A small island a few miles north of Taveuni a resort called Qamea. I have been there twice and it is an amazing resort with good shore based snorkelling. They also do snorkelling trips every day in a boat. Usually not far from the resort and close to shore with some awesome sights.
Winston did not effect Qamea

Bula!
I should say that I have not been up to Taveuni since Cyclone Winston, but I have asked people working there. The general feedback I have had is that the signature dive sites like the White Wall and Rainbow reef are largely intact and still fabulous. The shallower reefs did not fare so well and are, in many places, badly damaged. I suggest you contact the resort dorectly and ask their view. Qamea island was hit hard by the storm. The resort has rebuilt but I would be amazed if the shallow reefs were ok, but please go with someones view who has snorkeled there post storm.
If you wanted to stay somewhere prior to your husband arriving, I would suggest somewhere like Leluvia for a value for money option with good snorkeling Travelling further might be a bit much for a week, but look at Matava on Kadavu, which avoided the storm entirely or Mai Dive for a more upmarket option. Have a great trip.
