Hi all,

we have found some possibilities for Fiji this fall, mid Oct, to Mid Sept.

Anyone have some experience on the weather and H2O temp that time of year?

From the lonley planet book, sounds like it might be ok. My wife hates poor weather and any averages that say its not going to be pretty good is not good.

We usually wear 3/2 full suits in Coz at 72. So I think we are good there.

Many thanks.

Went last year in September. October is the start of their summer, I believe. Water should be warming up a bit after that. I forget the temp, but 3/2 was too chilly for me (survivable, but chilly for multiple dives). I added a 3mm hood, and was just fine after that. I'd say go spend $20 on a couple of hoods and you should be fine!
Scott Kukral from SeaFiji travel arranged my trip for me and was quite happy to help out with lots of good info on Fiji. He's on the board here now and probably wouldn't mind if you PM'd him for more (no, I'm not associated with his business, just a VERY satisfied customer). Have Fun!

Dove at Matangi and taveuni in early Oct. two years ago ...water was consistently 79F..used a full 3/2 and got a little cold esp. on the 3rd dive. My partner added a beanie and 3/2 shortie and stayed toasty. Have a full tide for me.

How the weather that time of year? looking for comments on, mostly sunny, some sun some rain, etc.

Water temps sound workable.
