I have an Aqualung BC with the standard inflator/dump setup. Last night my BC would not hold air. It was as if I was holding the button on the end hose down. I was able to fix it be swishing it around under water and pressing/releasing the button 20 or 30 times. I figure I just got some sand inside the works. Now the questions:
1) How to more effectivly service this in the field? It's not clear to me how it comes apart. The problem again is the dump valuce on the end of the hose not fully closeing likey due to sand.
(The previous dive, the exist was in zero vis. due to kicked up sand in the surf zone.)
2) Would it be better just to carry a spare. Looks like they are attached to the shoulder mounted dump valve with just a zip tie. But there is also a cable inside. Can the whole assembly be replaced in the field without much hassel?
If it matters mine is the Aqualing "Malibu" but I notice All AL and Sea Quest BCs have the same inflator/dump hose system unless someone install one of those air-2 thinkgs
