I'm testing the field of view settings on my Hero HD2 with the dive housing, and when set to wide 170, it seems to produce video that is overly rounded. I'm guessing that it needs to do this in order to shoot a wider view, though it just seems to be too rounded.

Just wondering, do you shoot with the medium view of 127 or 170? When do you use the wide view?

Thanks.

mostly wide. When shooting medium or spec. narrow the lens gets less light and video is a bit noisier, more blurry.

So with the dive housing on and on land or above water before descending, do you shoot with the medium view to reduce the rounding? Just curious how others are using the settings...

Thanks.

I only shoot med on the surface
the lens fisheye can be corrected most of the time in post
I shoot 2.7k and then use 1080p
that allows me to move the footage around because it is bigger than the final product
get some amazing post production pans and zooms that way

Why is the rum always gone
