Effects on the fetus?
 
Every source I've ever seen says "Don't do it."

There are no or very limited studies on the effects of increased nitrogen loading, O2 exposure, etc on a fetus, just because you can't exactly take a pregnant woman and say "OK, we're going to do some medical testing on you and your unborn baby."
 
Some early threads on the ASK DR DECO forums discussed this. Generally speaking, it does not appear to be a good idea as can be derived from experiments (on animals).

VERY VERY VERY BAD IDEA.

10 years or so ago I did my peer level ITC lecture on women and diving, and spent a fair amount of time on this subject. The data that exists is scary. If you wouldlike copies of the papers, etc. I used, PM me and I will mail them to you. You can also contact Donna Uguccione at DAN- she has been studying this for years and is a treasure trove of info.
