Hi 350xfire, any update on the ferei light? How does it compare to you other XML and the DX 5 Cree dropin?

Any more importantly, will you be selling those light heads (modified of course) or parts?

Waiting on a canister I have to get back so I can pressure test. It is put together though. I think I will end up using orings and applying silicone to seal it well. I ended up with a really small leak.

Once I test and get all the details, I will let you know. It may be a $50-75 mod to do.

As for beam, it is definitely floodier than a 52mm reflector. However, it is a very diveable light. With size in mind it is a really nice light. Very bright, small and compact.

Thanks
Hector

Canisters are in and this project is ON! Pressure testing right now... I will probably sell this one pretty cheap after I am done since I built as a prototype just to play around...

I am also working on converting a Ferei W150 into a canister light. Similar to this head but already water proof to 150m so easier build.

Here is the almost final product... You can see the black dot is the magnet that fires the hall effect switch (the white dot). LED is a Cree XML.

That's a really nice build. Funny how the cable gland and protector is almost as long as the light head itself :) Looking forward to seeing the beam shots.
