Your about the same size as me maybe just a little bit bigger. When I started all our training and OW check out was fresh water and my instructer, very good I mite add, had us weighted with minium wieght. First time I went into salt water floated like a cork. I know we were taught about the weight thing fresh to salt but we forget some times.

Sounds like fresh to salt. A guy your size would probley have to add about 5-6 lbs xtra for salt water. Your problem sounds very familular to me.

I ware 24 lbs. with a 3mill I like to be just a little heavy. I do a lot of fossil hunting and spear fishing and like to plant myself on the bottom sometimes.

Good Luck you'll get

I too am 65yrs, that can be a problem when diving with 30 something divers, I find I have to slow them down, some just can't wait to get wet. I too, I had my moments but, hell after 6 dives and you were still ready to go! I'd not worry if it is just a one time thing. Just read all the advice others have given and trust your instincts.
