I Bought a new Drysuit, fitted the pee valve, decided to try it all out. I put on the suit, slid on the catheter, plumbed up the pipework, And stood in the middle of the bedroom and took a piss.

It was only THEN that I figured out the concept behind a pee valve.

A few weeks ago we went for a drift dive in the upper Niagara River.. The water was 28 degrees farenheit.. when we came out, everything froze pretty much instantly.. We managed to get the tanks off, but the dry suit zippers were frozen solid.. so we had to sit in a local coffee shop to have a coffee and warm up before we could get out of our gear..
Sure got some strange looks that day..

Just wondering about your avatar.
Is that you getting back into the boat?
Or have you upset someone ( skipper ) and been helped into the water?

We went camping with a bunch of people at Hampton Beach NH. I went on a side trip and did some diving at Cape Ann.

Anyway I really like to wash off my gear really well after diving , especially after being in the ocean. At the camp grounds they had coin operated showers. Normally you could that a shower on one quarter.

Nobody was in the shower room when I got there with my gear and a hand full of quarters. As soon as I put in the first quarter and whole bunch of guys decided it was time for them to shower too. Guys are waiting in line. I'm washing my gear. 1 quarter, 2,3,4, 5...... Well I got a lot of nasty snares when I finally came walking out with all my dripping wet gear.

I'll share. A friend joined me last summer to dive off my sailboat. We motor down the shore about a mile and a half (20-25 minutes) and anchored. We had a great dive while my wife and kids snorkeled around the boat and waited. We re-boarded, hauled anchor and headed back to the marina. Barely underway and the winds picked up, clouds darkened down and first thing you know it's driving rain and hail. Wife and kids dive into the cabin and close it up. My buddy and I haul our wetsuits back on and sit it out in the cockpit (someone had to drive). S owe arrive back in our slip, just as it all blows over and the sun comes pouring down. All up and down the docks people are emerging from their boats, and here are these 2 guys docking a sailboat in full 7mm wetsuits. :D (There was a poker run getting under way when we departed, part of the reason we went so far down the shore, and no one had taken any notice when we loaded up gear and departed)
I got so many comments from friends and aquaintances last year that I started telling people I was going to change my name to "Are You Nuts", since that seemed to be what everyone called me anyway.

poker run?

whats that mean?

More often run on motorcycles, it's also run with fast powerboats (you know the "offshore" type, big engines 90 MPH, $100 to $200 an hour for gas).
The run usually consists of 5 stops, sometimes more (with the really big boats fuel at each stop) with a poker card collected at each stop. At the final stop, best hand wins a prize. there's some "racing" on the way and sometimes prizes for fastest leg and/or fastest overall time. Many are run as fundraisers. Locally there's a CNIB "Run for Sight" motorcycle run.

Sailors do it wothout the poker cards, at a much lower average speed and usually call it a regatta. :D
