I'm a Fish!
Hey all,

I really need several feedbacks on every charters that is out there that will provide a charter to go out to the Gray's reef to dive in...

I can list out of my mind this moment:

Tybee Island cruises
Island Dive Center on St. Simons Island
Atlantic Pro Divers in JAX, FL

Go ahead list more than what I gave out above. I am dying to know other charters and your feedbacks are important too!

If you absolutely need to know my preferences, it is really simple:
-small number of divers
-Date? any weekend in the summer!

Thanks!!!

Hmm, I know there are divers that can help me out... Maybe I need to rephrase my question: Have you experienced the charter to the Gray's Reef? Can you tell me how it was and was it worth it? I am looking for a charter this summer. Thanks.

I don't have the information you're looking for... in fact, I have generally the same questions as you. I will be in St. Simons Island the second week of May and am hoping to get a few dives on Gray’s Reef while I am there. Since I’ll be in SSI, I am planning on using Island Dive but I don’t know anything about them. I’ve tried to call ‘em a few times with no success.

Anyone have any info about diving Gray’s Reef?

I dove Grays on 4-2 the viz was good and the bottom temp was 61 degrees. Saw tons of bottom fish but its still too cool for the tropicals to move in from the Gulf stream yet. However its a great dive anytime.

Be sure that whoever takes you out is a legitimate dive charter. There are some operations that have fisherman that drop you off. I.E. no medical oxygen, no dive plan, no divemaster/no dive insurance. Be careful who you choose. Ask around

I have used Island Dive Center a few times, they are very friendly people. Their website: http://www.islanddivecenter.com/ and their hours are very limited so that is probably why you are having a hard time reaching them. I am trying to remember their hours, I think it's Tuesday to Saturday from 9 or 10am to 2 or 3pm. Closed on Sunday and Monday.
