As for 311, yes, they have always had somewhat of a ska sound but to me it was nowhere near as prevelant, as a matter of fact, my wife now won't listen to them anymore as she's a big ol' reggae/ska hater. Won't dive, hates raggae, why am I still with her?????? Oh yeah, don't want to lose half my dive gear.


Will agree that definitive Ska and Reggae sounds must be defined!

Last but not least, I'll throw in Iron Maiden -- Fear of the Dark as at the very least, the perfect song to listen to while on a cave or night excursion. Just sets me in the mood YMMV :*

Okay, I'll play.
A friend turned me on to the soundtrack from the movie Garden State. I have really been loving this album (collectively, all the kids "what's an album"?); so in truth I have it on my MP3 player, but I digress. This is a soundtrack that has something for everyone from hippie to emo. From Garfunkle to the Shins to Colin Hays to Remy Zero, it's a really eclectic (tooootally overused term) mix.

Saw a list of songs related to diving on another board that thought it was pretty weak. What's your favorite song related to diving whether it specifically has to do about diving or is somewhat related to the sport such as Bent by Matchbox 20 or The Ocean by Led Zeppelin. Or it cold be an "island song" that just gets you in the spirit of diving like 3 Little Birds by Bob Marley. Or maybe there is a song you want jammin on the boat as you head out to a site like Zero by The Smashing Pumpkins, Jimmy Thing by Dave Matthews Band or Taylor by Jack Johnson. Any genre, anything goes. Let 'em rip.
