Brandon:
Yeah, but it's also the song they played when Dr Green was dying on ER... saddest TV episode ever, makes me cry like a baby every time I see it. Good song though, just reminds me of that damn episode.

Don't watch ER so it only brings happy feeling for me. Plus my 18-month old daughter listens to it every morning.

I don't think I have any songs I associate with diving except the one that my beau likes:

Under The Waves by Pete Droge

Under the waves
Deep in the drift
I can feel the salt upon my skin
Under the waves
Falling away
I no longer see the rings of rain

Dang. 5 days short of one year old.

Should'a let this thread age the full 365.

these threads never get old because there's always new music coming out. My favorite is reggaeton.....NOT!!!!...I hate that s#4&....grrrrrr....kids.....

"Up from a sub sixty feet below,
SCUBA to the surface and we're ready to go,
Breaststroke, sidestroke to the shore,
Cross the beach and....

Just joking, folks. I'd go with Chris Rea "On the Beach" or INXS "The Strangest Party", just perfect for those nitrogen narc moments....

I was listening to Porcupine Trees Deadwing disc the other day, and a tune called Lazurus stuck out as something I'd like to hear while diving! (or as background music for a diving video)

Anything Buffett or acoustic guitar related get's me ready for diving!

Driftin By', no worries, sometimes your the stick and sometimes your the pinata. I think I screwed up about half of what I listed in one way or another. Kids, pay attention, that's what happens when you don't check your facts before posting. But then again, I wouldn't want a few facts to get in the way of a good post.

As for 311, yes, they have always had somewhat of a ska sound but to me it was nowhere near as prevelant, as a matter of fact, my wife now won't listen to them anymore as she's a big ol' reggae/ska hater. Won't dive, hates raggae, why am I still with her?????? Oh yeah, don't want to lose half my dive gear.

Will agree that definitive Ska and Reggae sounds must be defined!

Will throw in another Dio vote for Holy Diver and the narced experience. (if your unsure listen again.)

Last but not least, I'll throw in Iron Maiden -- Fear of the Dark as at the very least, the perfect song to listen to while on a cave or night excursion. Just sets me in the mood YMMV :*
