My favorite memories of the 2025 SB Belize Invasion.... 🤨hmmmm....
First, has to be how, despite many complications, disappoinments, and unmet expectations, we enjoyed another GREAT SB Invasion!
Next, the diving was awesome (Dennis and Roxannedo not take us where the diving is mediocre), and so were the SB divers who we dived with, and the dive captains, 1st mates and DMs who I dealt with, who all did a great job.
The staff really did their best to help us, and make our stay a vacation, despite the "resort" resembling what one online review called a "post apocalyptic setting". Staff did the their best with the limited resources they had available, which leaves a much warmer memory of our stay than if all we left with was the full taste of Hakim the Arrogant's bait and switch.
Finally, I cannot say that winning the photo challenge, and the Peregrine TX + Transmitter, will not be one of my best memories of SB Belize Invasion 2025!
Thank you every single person who participated, in making this memorable, despite the odds we faced upon arrival!
There was no “bait and switch”. Every bad review on Trip Advisor told us this is what you would get, and we got it.

Would have been nice to be able to upload my photos for the contest. I got great pictures of the rare spotted Toadfish and had some other killer shots. Sadly I waited until 3, 2 hours before submission deadline and the power went out again, for the 27th time. Didn’t come back until the deadline was over, and a Toadfish pic evidently would have won. Oh well

From what I have seen, the resort's owner, operator, Hakim, lied to Dennis about what he could deliver.
He offered us what he knew he could not deliver.
That, to me perfectly fits the term, "bait and switch" to a T.
Were there reviews available? Obviously, although I never saw them before arriving.
Maybe we should have shopped more carefully among more recent reviews, but that possible failure on my, or your part, does not excuse a con job.

The point is, that despite whatever the negatives created by the owner were, we really had another great SB Invasion, and Dennis and Roxanne held everything together long enough for us to have some memorable dives, and SI together, and then to get out of there safely.
So much more could have gone south, than did, so I am going to keep saluting our team leaders, and our fellow divers, for keeping our focus on what really counted, the diving, safety, and getting the H@[[ out of there, relatively unscathed!
Overall, we enjoyed the trip, and prefer to focus on that.

I too had several pics I desperately wanted to upload on Friday, after our last dives. Pics that I certainly thought topped the toadfish pic. I had no clue that the toadfish was the ultimate goal.
Even before the outage happened, the internet at the resort had become too busy to do so though.
Go ahead and share your images! I'm sure we would all love to see more great images from this adventure!
I know that I would. I love seeing the stories that my fellow divers can create and share, created with the pics they capture!

The intenet doesn’t work without power. I couldn’t load a basic web page. There was no backup power to their router. You also couldn’t even get WiFi in the cafeteria.

Read the reviews on Trip Advisor then get back to me. All 8 1 star reviews described EXACTLY what we experienced. I was told that the reviews weren’t considered during the process. There’s a whole other resort at the south end that’s a world apart from this hell hole. Hakim pulled one over on Dennis? He got me to with “limo service to the airport”. And yes, Hakim provided this to us, because we’re special lol

Jim is spot-on. A "bait and switch" is fraud perpetrated by a vendor. Outside reviews have nothing to do with it. The resort was not as advertised, so "bait and switch" is very accurate. And I LOVE the "Hakin the Arrogant" moniker, Jim. A perfect fit! Thanks to Dennis for keeping Sir's cigar smoke away from our meals after that first day. I was wondering how much trouble I'd be in if I told him to put it our or he'd have to remove it from his anal orifice...

Will called BDH "summer camp for divers" - which seems pretty accurate. Summer camp isn't luxe, but it's a lot of fun!

All in all, it was a great week for all of the important reasons: good company/great people, beautiful diving and lots of it, and a getaway to a gorgeous Caribbean locale! Dennis and Roxanne ROCK!!:clapping:
