Now come on guys....remember that little period back in the 70's and 80's when everyone was wearing some of the ugliest colored wetsuits, BC's and various equipment that now just makes you sick looking at and remembering....some of you owned this stuff???? Now I realize styles change and many times things come back into style but PLEASE DON"T MAKE THIS ONE OF THEM. :)

Bobbin-along:
It has been explained very nicely to me today that "real" divers wear black and wanna-be's wear colors. So apparently, several of us missed that memo. Personally I will continue to dress like a 5 year old on land and in the sea. At least my husband won't mistake me for another diver, or a sea lion.

Thats ridiculous. Real divers wear whatever color they want. Anyone who says otherwise is a control freak who thinks he knows more about diving than the rest of us, and probably knows less. The all black scheme is real popular among the tech divers...they're so serious... :) Most recreational divers dive for fun. Bright colors makes it easier to keep up with your dive buddy and/or the DM leading your dive. Wear your colors proudly.

Nemrod:
How is black more functional than blue or yellow?
Because it causes less water resistance......duh!

Dear Bobbin, Isn't it amazing what some folks can come up with. My scuba attire has also been the brunt of comment in the past as I will tell you, my colors and style are NOT coordinated. I have equipment that works for me and I frankly could care less what someone else thinks. I have seen some terrific ensembles out there and if it works, then, whatever. The most important thing is to be comfortable and functional. And also, when I am out diving I am thinking about my planned dive and diviing the plan. Also, another tidbit....My husband and dive with a fantastic dive op in Cozumel. (Blue XT Sea)... Together, the dive masters have over 14, 000 logged dives. I have never cared one bit about what their attire was, and if it was coordinted. I don't really think they care either. We are there for the dive, not a walk down the fashion runway. Their experience is all that matters and believe me, it is top notch. Enjoy your fashion statement !!! You are #1. Happy Diving ! Sue Sue

Gidds:
was the person who was rude to you perhaps dressed something like this:
ALL black gear
mask with black skirt
doubles
BP/W
long hose
jetfins?

:sofa:

my gear is all black because that's what color was available but I got a neon yellow snap strap so I wouldn't be mistaken for one of "those people" and so I can be seen underwater.
You better hide behind that couch eyebrow

I am glad they make an Elvis hood, so when I go dir I will have an all black hood. Elvis is DIR isnt he? My wife will be even cuter with her new tigger hood.
NetDoc the Order of the Arrow redeems us losers.

Duh, anyone knows that yellow fins are much faster than stupid black fins. Even blue fins are faster than black fins. N
