A nice east coast hello to ya'll on the west,
I am planning a trip to the SF area in the fall and was interested
in getting a Great White trip to the Farallon islands.
Could anyone recommend a good operator and any personal experiences
on any Great White Shark dives/operators in California.
And yes I did search the forums before posting. I looked at
the greatwhiteadventures website. Anybody had experience
with them they would like to shar. Thanks and happy diving.

Chuck Tribolet:
To my knowledge, the greatwhiteadventures folks are the only ones running commercial
trips at this time.
Yeah, and get your wallet out too, 'cause it ain't cheap!!

Nor are seeing sharks guaranteed. I went diving with one person who did the shark diving thing. Said they didn't see one shark, but they did offer him a discount if he ever wanted to do it again. :11:

Yeah I saw that they are very very expensive for a one day trip.
That is why I was hoping to get some first hand experience
from someone who went with them or if there were other
outfits that provided the same service.

Newbie...

What's happening?
I remember posting back and forth with you a few years back...
Did you ever do the Great White trip to Australia?

I've never been to the Farrallonnes for Great Whites, but I have been out with Great White Adventures/Shark Diving International on several dive trips.

I can tell you that it's a great operation and James Moskito,
the guy who's Captains the Farrallon trips is a great individual.

Their succes rate for the Farrallones is 80%
So there is a chance you may get NO sharks.
From what I hear it is quite different than Guadalupe, S.A. or Aus...

I am going to go someday, as much to take the bumpy ride and witness the islands.
Yeah it's not cheap, but you seem like the kind of shark fan that would want to take the chance of seeing one of the BIGGEST Great Whites on the planet!

Do it....

Tell James or Lawrence Bill sent you...

Hey Bill,
Yes I do remember our postings a little while
back. Lack of cash has posponed my Australia trip.
I would like to go for a month so I planning to go
in 2007. Thanks for help on the Farallons.
I see they run the trip for a couple of months in
the fall. Would you know if any month is better to
try to go?

I am guessing you went with GWAdventures on the Guadalupe
trip out of San Diego? I imagine it was great??!!!

If you do go, be sure to let us know how it was!

I've been passively interested in this trip for quite awhile too and there's not a lot of info on the board about it.

I'd go for the middle of those couple of months.

And read a book called "The Devil's Teeth". It's in current print, and you can get it
from Amazon. It's excellent background on the Farallones.
