Greetings,
I am looking for a family friendly dive destination in the caribbean or Bermuda. We like to stay at a nice, quiet hotel with a good beach where our 2 year old can play. If the islands has some additional attractions (zoo etc) the better. And of course Daddy needs to go diving from time to time ;). Our original plan was to go to Cozumel and stay at the Hotel Presidente Intercontinental but given the current circumstances we will cancel the trip. I am grateful for any alternative suggestions.
Thx
Martin

Have a look here For Families at Beaches All-Inclusive Caribbean Vacation

If you are concerned about a "swine flu" epidemic within the large cities of Mexico spreading to Cozumel, are you not just as concerned that this will be wherever you next select, or possibly even show up in Connecticut?

Maybe look at Boca Raton or the Keys? They do DIR there, as well.

Thanks for the link. You are right this is not a good time to travel particularly since my wife is pregnant as well. Therefore we might end up not going anywhere, but at least I can dream...

I would fully recommend fdr pebbles in falmouth jamaica, best staff ever, free nannies as needed, & the diving was actually pretty good, kids staff was top notch

You are just as likely to catch the flu at home in US as you are about anywhere right now. It may not be the best time for any travel. If you do go, I would be more concerned about being on a plane with people who might be sick rather than the destination.

As far as your original question goes... Grand Cayman might be a good choice for you, also Curacao.

Any particular recommendation based on personal experience regarding a baby/kids friendly hotel on Grand Cayman/Curacao ?

I would post your question down in the Caribbean Forum, asking just that. (My kid isn't a kid anymore so I can't recommend any particular resort.)

We have gone for the past three years to Grand Cayman - We stay at the Westin. Amazing beach, Red Sail sports has an operation right there, so the dive boat just pulls right up to the beach, the pool is excellent, the food is very good, and there are tons of kids everywhere. Totally comfortable for families. I can heartily recommend the place.

This is very helpful, Thx

Aruba has awesome beaches and very nice diving. No zoo but the butterfly farm is kind of cool.
