Swimmer's Challenge: Cross 103 Miles Of Shark-Infested Water - Bakersfield News Story - KERO Bakersfield

While I applaud the personal challenge of such a long, unassisted swim, I feel the 'news' requirement to call the waters 'shark infested' is simply hype and blather. How about focusing on the real challenges of sun, exhaustion, and weather (which are touched upon, yet the shark infestation (really?!) is the focus.)

Really there is no reason at all for these magnificent animals to be held captive for our 'entertainment'. SeaWorld needs to rehabilitate and release, not raise in captivity. Creatures that, in the wild, roam thousands of miles are not suited to live in relatively tiny spaces
