We just returned from our Labor Day trip to Puerto Lobos about an hour and a half south of Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Sonora. If you want to read a report about our experience diving Puerto Lobos, you'll find the complete story on the blog section of our website: Cortez Blue Photography - Underwater Photography and Marine Artwork
The weather gods weren't super cooperative. Our arrival was preceded by six days of wind that churned the Sea of Cortez up pretty good. We aborted plans to dive a shrimp boat wreck due to poor visibility and focused our efforts on drift diving. Yeah, honest to god drift diving in the Sea of Cortez.
Lea and John Parris, Sea of Cortez Adventures, LLC., introduced us to this new diving destination on the northern end of the Sea of Cortez. It truly was a wonderful adventure and we'll be going back. Hopefully, that return trip will be soon.
Despite the amount of crud that was in the water due to the tropical storm that had things churned-up, we still got some good photographs.
If you're interested in diving Puerto Lobos, Lea can be contacted via her e-mail: scubalea@gmail.com or via her cell phone: 928-380-8619. Lea and John do a great job!
BTW... If any of you nudibranch experts can tell me what the nudi in the photo is, I'll appreciate it. It was pretty cool!
