Dental floss. Oral hygene is very important.

LMAO Robert...could to know you think of your teeth often!!! OP, I always have two sets of gloves, 2 masks, extra weight (variety), my drysuit zipper wax, bottled water, and a save a dive kit make sure it has extra O rings, extra straps...etc.(most do). Batteries for your light. Like I dive HID Cannon and the batteries can die very quickly, so good have extras. I also always have my first aid kit in my car...this stuff is small so it can easily fit into a dive bag. Oh ya don't forget your floss guess we got a dentist diver!!!

Cheers Annette

drinking water, There is never a guarantee there will be any left when you surface so I bring my own.

A towel, gloves and a hat (it's freezing here in MA), tools (has saved a few dives), and a standard save-a-dive kit (put one together yourself based on what you could need for your diving and gear).

Go to Wal-Mart or any sporting goods store and pick up a small to med small tackle box that will help keep everything organized. Keep extra fin straps, mask straps, snorkel keepers, reg mouthpieces, O rings in different sizes, weight belt, adjustable wrench, asst screwdrivers, pliers, a few extra dollars in quarters (I use an old film container) and a small first aid kit.

First thing is to simplify your gear as much as possible to eliminate failure points that require back up. Spring straps are the best purchase you will make - and they will keep you from needing bulky extra fin straps. A lot of So Cal divers don't use snorkels. If stuff is always breaking on the land it can also break in the water. Fewer O-ring failures with DIN vs. yoke.

Shaggy's right about a tackle box - I need to get one to keep the odds and ends organized. Since I change reg configs a lot between single and double tanks, DS, etc. keeping HP and LP plugs is important. A scuba multitool is nice. I carry a tube of non-drowsy dramamine as well. You will go through lots of quarters.

The lack of dental floss on your list explains your sea lion breath.
