Well the ankle weights introduced a problem that wasn't there:
You are now getting aerobic excise while finning.

If you are having trouble getting light in the feet during a dive then you were probably diving an aluminum tank and possibly had it to high on the rig...

Additionally the ACBs add weight further toward the head than a weight belt.

It is impossible for me to coach you over the net but I'll bet if I saw you dive I would see some areas to correct.

Are you diving dry or wet?

Just noticed that you were diving dry and yes that does make a difference...

Probably had to much juice in the suit and once the feet start getting light they tend to get lighter as gas migrates...

Tip: wade out into the water with the neck seal held open and get the air out of the suit before you gear up... during the dive only add enough gas to the suit to relieve the excessive squeeze and when you ascend dump suit gas before the suit starts to get loose.

Diving dry... rental shell dry.

I probably did have my tank too high as it was my first run, I didn't pay too much attention to it to be honest.

I was using ACB's. I will try with a simple weight belt this weekend.

Would love to drive down south of the BC/Washington border in a few weeks when my dry suit comes in and I get out of this rental. I am very coachable...:help:

Actually that is the usual scenario with those short tanks Tom...
That is why the PST104s are such a nice tank...
You will love them!

Can't wait to get them. They're backordered out of the factory. I'm stuck for at least another week.

I like these Supers, they just take a bit more concentration during your bad time or your feet'll float. Other than that they're sweet to dive compared to standard 80s.

You should make a point of doing it. From what I can tell, not actually having dived with him (you can tell though), Pug knows his sh!t. He could probably teach you alot in a short time.
