I have used my S400/WP-DC800 on two trips so far (400 pics and 300 pics respectively). I've had real good luck with it.

From day one, I've placed a small silica-gel moisture bag (from a shoe box) inside as a preventative for fogging or moisture.

A fellow diver with a different model who was complaining about the anti-fog solution he put on his case lens. I never applied any anti-fog on mine, but gave him an extra silica-gel bag I had. He was good to go after that!

The WP-DC800 case is rated at 130ft.

Steve: Do you keep the silica-gel moisture bag inside the case when the camera is also inside, or only when the case itself is empty?

Thanks for the tip. I just bought the WP-DC800 and am looking forward to my first foray into underwater photography next weekend.

Not Steve but yes....put the dissicant pack in with the camera

I originally bought the S400 with the intent of buying the WP-DC800 for it. However, I've read some of the reviews on it, and I'm rather concerned about flooding the camera.

Is flooding a problem with the housing or is it user error? Also, has anyone had experience with Canon after flooding their camera?

Can you please tell me what all I need if I buy the ys25dx or the ys 90dx? I already have the ELPH and wpdc800 housing.

Thanks!

Cabo:
Easy to use, been to 130' or so. Never a problem with it. LCD is a bit small(on land or underwater).
I use the YS-25DX strobe which is a bit underpowered. Should have gone for the 90.

Camera + housing now can be had for < $500 brand new. Strobe & arm will be around that.

I have seen a housing for the ELPH 4 meg camera that is a tiny aluminium housing and looks way cool. The brandname was SEAL, made by Chinook industries,

Here is a link

ELPH housing

I like the look of this housing so much I am seriously thinking of buying the camera.
