Hallelieua....I've spent 2 days trailing around Dive shops and Marine Chandlers trying to find rust proof grommets, to customize my BC: McMaster-Carr are the 'Go To' company...thanks guys (and SBF)
All the best,
Nigel

I was trying to make an extender for my Genesis rig and ended up doing exactly as the kraken did, and to keep from marring my brass grommets, I used a rubber mallet instead of a hammer.

............ The kit included a cutting die, which isn't working (the webbing is very tough).............................

A slight modification to The Kraken's suggestion. The usual cutting dies are just a piece of mild steel tubing with a half-@ssed attempt at a cutting edge. Chuck-up the tubing in a hand drill and heat over the stove or torch as previously suggested. NOW you are dangerous. Quickly touch the tubing to the webbing to see if you are on center. Drill the hole through the webbing with a piece of soft wood acting as a backing. Burn off all the previous goo before you do the next hole.

I have always used SS grommets and twist locks, I cut the hole with a very sharp scalpel and then gently burn it.

You must have a twist lock or two on your beaver to remain chaste.
