A recent post stated the following:

"Never house a camera you can't afford to flood."

Luckily for me, I've never had a flood.

Just curious what peoples experiences are.

yeah, i flooded a cheap 35mm Ikelite camera. not sure what happened, but i
probably didn't shut it correctly.

Not yet, but I expect to (I'm a pessimist)

Flooded my video housing twice, although "trickled" is a more appropriate phrase. Both times there was about a tablespoon of water that leaked in before I noticed it. One time was my error (a hair fell from my head after I had inspected the o-rings), the second time no cause could be determined.

Fried the housing (Top Dawg) electronics both times ($100 repair) but the video camera (TRV17) still works like a charm! I hold my housing so the water goes to the port end and the right side which seems to keep the camera dry.

Well, it wasn't the "biblical" flood...you know, where you open the housing and fish flop out...just enough to set off the alarm and give me heart failure.

I've had more issues with the rinse tank. Now anything that goes in there has my hand attached.

All the best, James

I flooded a Nikonos V with a 15 MM lens.
