Does anybody Ikelite's EV Manual Controller?

Does it mean that with the EV Manual Controller I can wirelessly trigger an slave underwater strobe with my master strobe which is attached to my underwater housing? If yes, how far do I have to be to the slave strobe?

yes, it works, and works pretty well.
How far away they will work will depend on the vis and the power of your on-camera strobes.
In clear caves, i can easily trigger at 15 or so feet.

it's actually rather hard to verify the remote strobe triggered as for me, the onboard strobes mean I cant easily see it. What I usually do is hover over the slave afterwards as it takes 2-3 seconds for the remote slave to recycle, and i can see the red "ready" light come back on.

Well, the Ikelite EV Controller has been selling for nearly 10 years and if it did not work nobody would be buying. Just to clear up some terminology; imho, it is typical to call the camera's onboard flash a flash and to call the external strobes strobes. Using the EV to power a slave strobe off a wired primary strobe is not typical, imho, because at $150 for the EV a dual sync cord is a better way to go. Some dual strobe rigs fire both strobes with EV's.

Most EV use is with the onboard camera flash as the trigger.

I am not sure it really matters what "most" EV use is honestly.

The questions was, is it possible to remotely trigger another strobe, and the answer is yes, and it works rather well.

I have a sea & sea housing with dual YS-250s on the arms with a dual cord, and use 2 offboard IKElite DS50s both triggered via EV controllers, and for certain environments it works great, and can really open up the kind of shots one can take.

There is no one "right" way to use this stuff, and $150 is a bargain compared to the rest of the setup
