Equipment slimey after soaking

Soaked all my gear after a dive. Got lazy and left it in the soak bin for about 48 hrs and when I took it out to dry, there was a slimey film on it. I have left it this long before and never had any problems with it. Is this just algae growth? What can I use to mix with the water to stop this and not hurt the gear?

I'll have to agree with the Pugster, his technique would be best, though I'd recommend at least 4 - 6 hours, but in water at least 85º.
Lacking that, throw a gallon of vinegar in your tub, it'll throw off the Ph so critters won't want to grow in it. Be careful of Germans & Belgians though, we've been known to be attracted to odors of pickling things. :eyebrow:
