Hi

In my many years of teaching I've seen it a lot, people flying through the course with little or no promlem then have a small "moment" and getting a metal block thats hard to overcome

For mask renoval your doing good the snorkel in the pool without a mask helps, but if you start this by swimming forward you will find it easyer. if still a problem pinch your nose momentarily (it's better than swallowing water and getting another negative thought in your head). Once you feel confident then let go if nose and continue

Next tip if you put your tounge over the reg mouthpiece and suck the air rather than breath it (like a Macdonalds milkshake) it will really help, if drinking through a straw you don't normally breath through your nose as you are sucking

Finally when you make some open water dives for real after you Finnish your course there's not going to be a evil instructor like me or many others in front ok you telling you to do horinle things, after the course it all about enjoying and seeing and hopefully you never need most of the things you learn, but just in vase keep all refreshed and current!

Get booked on a advanced course and get some diffrent dives with a instructor.

Good luck let us know when your paased[emoji108]

Try to remember to NOT over train yourself. When doing that mask removal (or any) training drill, STOP, RELAX, THINK. Make a conscious effort to inhale only from your mouth. Practice on land, while sitting in traffic, watching TV - whatever . . Being frustrated with a simple little thing like a mask removal is a silly reason to quit. Just think of the great diving you'd miss on your vacation to Southern California :-)
