Emergency cylinder on Buddy BCD's

hi, i was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a buddy trimix bcd wing and i want to remove the emergency cylinder ( bottle of death as it is also know) on the back. i have looked on the manufacters website and cant find any help. does any one know if there is a blanking plug available for this valve. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Never heard of that brand, but if you are talking about an old BCD with a CO2 cartridge, most people just empty it, and leave the empty cartridge in place.

I was thinking the same thing as you too - empty the bottle and leave it connected...

Maybe send an email to the company and ask them if there is an alternative so you don't have to carry the extra bulk around...

Hes probably talking about the Buddy Inspiration wing with safety bottle.

Guess we need clarification - AP Valves does carry a "Buddy Trimix" wing with an "auto inflator/emergency air source," which is available on several of their models...

almost all ap valves bcd's come with a 0.4l cyclinder/crack bottle fillable from the main cylinder as an emergency buoyancy source. a blanking plate is available - call ap valves and they'll sort you out - very helpful people. the autoinflator airsource thing is an airII style inflator regulator.
