A quick question : Is it safe to dive after emergancy ascent from a 55min dive from 16m. any help on this would be great guys.

The short answer is no. Of course that assumes it was a rapid assent. A single incident is probably not too bad, but you should stay out of the water for at least 24 hours. As part of a class last summer I had a lecture by a MD who deals with decompression illness. People who break the rules on assent rates and go beyond NDL limits without decompressing end up with neurological and bone problems. Will you get hurt if you break the rules one time? Probalby not but you are rolling the dice.

As said before, stay out of the water for atleast 24H and moniter for signs of DCS.

if you have to=yes..beats drowning..

No probably not...Unless you have gills taking your chances with DCS are probably better than breathing water.

I would probably ask for oxygen on the boat as well. Can't hurt.
