I finally saw my first Grunt Sculpin! At the cut, Whytecliff of all places.

I almost didn't bring my camera on this dive, man would I have been kicking myself. I have to give credit to my dive buddy Doug for finding it but it's a first for me. :D

Next on my search list is a purple ring top snail.

Looking at your logged dive count I don't feel so bad now. I thought it was just me that couldn't find them.

It's really cool to watch them walk on their fins and it got me checking into their behavior. I found out that they hide in dead Giant Acorn Barnacles and use their tails to mimic a feading barnacle. If you look at the tail it looks just like a barnacles legs.

Great pics!

I wonder if it's a special (spawning?) time of year for these guys... I had never seen one either until last week when I saw one at Ansell and another one at Whytecliff. Very cute and unique fish!

Nice pic and I won't tell you about my dive buddy that found 12 on 1 dive. It was at Odgen break water.

saw two of these beauts over at q cove last week by the quadra island ferry, was funny watching them, they seemed to be looking for eachother on coming down the side of a cliff and the other at the bottom hopping around .
