I am looking for a Waterborne type watch strap that is also stretchy/elastic similar to the bands on some of the Uwatec models.

It seems that it would be nice to have a strap with that feature so that you could just slip the computer/watch on and off quickly. I know that you can do this with elastic bungee-type cords, but would much rather get the Waterborne type with stretchy/elastic material.

I'm not shilling for them, but when I received my dive rite nitek duo I received with it, a think stretchy cinch strap that I could use to replace the regular plastic band. I don't know if this is the same as the Waterborne to which you refer, but you can check for yourself at diveriteexpress.com.

Mark, what is it that you don't like about the band? If you make it tighter, should it not hold as well as other bands and be more convenient for removing and putting back on?

Also, can you please tell me the width of the band?

I went to the local fabric store and got 1 yard of heavy duty 1" black elastic for .89, fastec (sp) clasp for 2.79 (for 2) and a couple of sliders for .12 each. Dive Rite Express wants $12.00 + shipping for their strap and it will take 2-3 weeks for you to receive it. Been there and did it, now I regret that I spent WAY too much.

I wouldn't argue with Chrism point that Diverite's $12 price on the strap is a lot for what it is, esp as a homemade one as he suggests will work just as well. Mine was thrown in as a freebie with the computer. I do like a band that I can just slip on and off, or just cinch it tight. To each his own.
