I'm not sure what you are asking but El Cid is just a bit south of the Park Royal, and although it's on the water it really doesn't have a beach. If you use the magnifying glass icon to enlarge this map it's # 14

And in this photo you see the Park Royal in the middle & to the left & El Cid is at the right edge. It's basically right next to the International Pier.

Wife and I go to Coz 3-4 times a year for the last 3 years and stay at El Cid. Will be heading back around Thanksgiving for a 2 week stay. Great staff clean rooms. Always welcomes us back home when we return. We dive with the on site dive op Babeica. Louis the divemaster is very attentive and safe. Small fast boats get you to the dive sites quick. Cruise ship pier is close by but causes no real problems. Taxis are readily available . Will be glad to answer any questions

we used to stay at La Cieba before ElCid purcahsed the property. we reallly liked it, the food was always good and the staff was wonderful. I belive most of the same staff is there and El Cid has made many improvements to the property, especially after Wilma.

It is my personal opinion that it is the best property location on the island, but some folks think it's too close to the cruise pier..just good people watching to us :D

I don't know how much they cater to divers anymore, it used to be pretty much a "diver's hotel", I think it's more "resorty" now, not that that is a bad thing, almost all dive ops will still pick you up at thier pier...have a great time and say hi to Ester at the front desk :D

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I have a few questions about the resort:

1. We are going to have a kitchen in our room and to save alittle $$$ we are going to make a few runs into town for groceries (Mega). What do taxi charge to get into town?
2. How reasonable are the rates for dinner at El Cid?
3. What are your favorite restaurants in town (mexican food).
4. I didn't see dive shop Babeica on the Padi website are they certified with some organization (didn't see it on their website).

1. taxis charge 7-8 bucks each way, you can talk to the driver and ask before you go to make sure sometimes the price changes if too high start walking down the road and flag a taxi heading to town and ask his price. alot of times we go to the little in n out store by el cids ( as you are walking out the front main entrance it will be to your left .... good price on beer if you factor in the taxi cost) milk, eggs, bread and chips... pretty good selection.
2. Average not cheap but not high.hit happy hour 2 for 1 for your drinks, i think it is 4 to 6 each day... if you want great fajitas go to Ernesto's just a short walk down the road (head toward town about 1/4 mile nice easy walk on sidewalk..... they also have great breadfast.... ALOT CHEAPER THAN EL CID breakfast.
3. favorite lunch is at las palmas in town (cheap 25.00 for party of 4 adults with lots left over), Los Seras for tacos in the evenings (really good awsome taco's $20 to 25 for 4 adults and you will be really full), la mission on the square for dinner if you want a good meal (about $10- 15 per person).
4. Babieca is Padi... look on el cid website ... dive master is Luis,,,,, AWSOME DIVEMASTER.. very protective and great at finding what you want to see..
Wish we were going there tomorrow.!! Hope this helps any other info just message us.

Depends on the room. We try to get a room in the 3 level building close to the lobby. We can sit on our balcony and get a signal. Don't know about the towers. We have gone to the resurant during happy hour with laptop and get good reception. you have to get code from front desk.

Great info...We are going in Nov and staying at ElCid so it is nice to see some info...Thank you..
