Can someone who's stayed at El Cantil tell me if I should be bringing an ethernet cable or a USB cable to hook up to the DSL connection? I'm leaving on Monday and I know that I had an email about this, but I can't find it.

And, does anyone have a reliable update on the opening of Wynstons (the new restaurant on the top floor)? Their web sites says "opening in December 2006." It sounds like it could be a very nice place for a special dinner.

The well prepared geek would bring both - just in case.

Ethernet cable will be all you'll need. 2 of the 3 (ok, 4!) condos we were in had wi-fi.

The restaurant definitely wasn't done 2 weeks ago. I'm going to keep my mouth shut about how I hope it's not ready for New Year's (oops, did i say that out loud?!?) considering what we had to deal with from Albert about our rental condo not being ready when he claimed it would be.

Hope you have better luck with him than us!

Thanks, Jeff. wifi would be best, but just in case, I'll bring an ethernet cable. (Actually, not needing to use the laptops for anything other then video and photo editing would be best, but that's not gonna happen.)

The way the last few weeks have gone for us with work and ill parents, dealing with any vacation and/or management snafoos will be nothing! I had a couple minor glitches with the reservations but they seem to have been all straightened out. I did appreciate the heads-up though. I kept an eye on everything and hopefully the couple issues we hard will be all.

Plugging in gave us much better speeds but I mostly used the wi-fi (when i could) for convenience.

You're going to have a wonderful time, the condos have surely all been finished for months now... The location is fantastic and given the right circumstances I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. OK, maybe I might hesitate slightly - LOL!

Keep us updated

SW,

I am staying there over the Holidays. Per my last email from Albert two weeks ago Wynstons is due to open mid month Dec. Well see.

Have a great time

Thanks Rich. We're heading to the mainland for our second week on the 11th so I guess it will have to wait until our next trip. I bet the views from the top of the building around sunset would be fabulous. It sounds like it will be a $$$$ place. I'll wait to hear some reviews first.

We have reservations for Xmas evening, I'll let you know

The condo we stayed in already had a computer, so did not need to hook up but it was CAT-5. We will be staying there again in June, it is a really great place.

CAT-5 is also known to the less geeky amongst us as Ethernet cable. No offense intended; I'm as geeky as they come. ;^)
