I am visiting Eilat with my father for one day during Easter and need some tips. We have only one day to dive so I want the best chances of getting a good dive :p

Which operators are recomendable? We have already booked a hotel with some other people who are not diving, so I do not need resort recommendations. We need a good operator and it would also be great if anyone has some specific divespot recommendations. Since we only get to dive one day, I hope we can visit one of the best spots.

Thanks,

- Joakim

You can try "Manta" dive club (also caller "Red Sea Sport") located near the Ambassador Hotel, or "Meduza" in the Dekel Beach. Near "Manta" there are several other dive clubs ("Siam Divers", "Aqua Sport" and "Marina Divers") and all of them are OK too.

Dive sites for one day? Are you looking for guided dives, or just some info how to get to the spot and dive on your own? Will you have your own car, or you'll need transportation from the dive club?

We are looking for guided dives, and we also need to hire equpment. A guided one day trip with two dives and transportation from the dive club would be perfect.

Do you have any contact information on those clubs by the way?

Thanks for helping.

PM baltimoron, he grew up there, I am sure he can give you some hints..

I recommend "Marina" dive center.
They sit right next to a dive site with a Missile boat at 25m. Very good for a first dive and you will not loss time on transportation.
They will also be able to take you to other more shallow second dives. You will probably want to see the Corral beach or the University beach.

There is a excel file with all dive centers in israel. it's at: http://img1.tapuz.co.il/forums/36633496.xls
lines 42 to 52 are dive centers in Eilat. You can see the name on the row with the link to the web site while the second line is the phone number. Just add '972' and remove the '0' from the '08' if you phone from out side Israel. Also "Manta" recomended by Jai-Bar is listed as "Red Sea Sport" (line 48).
